One of my favorite memories in which I feel honored to have, is walking down everyday after school with my great grandma to go buy scratcher lottery tickets.
I was only in middle school at the time, around the age of 11 years of age when my great-grandma came to live and stay with us for a few months. During this time, she found out about scratcher lottery tickets and fell in love with them! She couldn’t speak any English, so she would wait patiently until I returned home from school daily and her and I would take the journey to walk down to the local liquor store and she would pick out the one that “spoke” to her.
I will remember those moments for the rest of my life and cherish all the time I had the privilege to walk her down to the store to get her daily scratchers.
